Running home from Xmas
It seems ages since the Xmas party already but hopefully everyone had a great time. Certainly the walk back was interesting as a wide variety of head torches were on show. Thanks are due to Jane who once again organised the event and then unfortunately was ill and unable to attend.
A round up of the weeks events starts with the local parkrun where Stu finished a creditable third. I'm sure Ali was also running but he didn't feature in the results for some reason. I'll start the min-league from the beginning of January for those who wish to participate.
Ed donned his TRC vest and finished well in the Mortimer Forest Trail race near Ludlow.
Dan, Jo, Jenny and Tracy all took part in the Westonbirt 10k Christmas race with Dan and Jo being particularly pleased with their times.
Julia, Kathy, Linda and myself put on our best festive gear for the Weston Super Mare 10k Christmas Cracker. We were joined by Becky Thomas who was guiding her visually impaired fellow athlete Jayne Murphy around what was a tricky sand and narrow footpath course. Particular congratulations to them. Jayne is hoping to do one of our aquathlons if the logistics can be arranged.
i'm sure there will be a number of events on over the Xmas period such as cold water swims etc. but I do know that the Tewkesbury pool is due to be open from 9-12 on Xmas morning and it will be nice and warm for wimps like myself. Anyone looking for a Boxing Day run, Winston's Wish, the children's charity are holding their traditional 2/4 mile run/walk at Cheltenham racecourse which is suitable for all.
As usual if I've missed anything off, please let me know.
