Still Catching Up!
Still trying to catch up on all the events that members have attempted over the summer! Here's some Standard and Sprint distance events:
First up we have Jo, our only representative at Bournemouth Standard Distance. Understandably nervous at the prospect of her first sea swim, she held it together and managed to finish in a creditable 3:21.
Nick and Paul flew the TTC flag at the Cotswold Sprint Tri with Nick finishing 6th in 58:38 with Paul following him home in 1:14:00
Its the time of the year when triathlons start to have titles featuring 'Last' or 'End of Season' in the title as it was with the Lake 62 End of Season event. There were three of us at this one. Ed led the team home finishing in 9th position in 2:14. By the time he'd got changed, had lunch and packed his kit up, Linda and myself made it over the line in times of 3:12 and 3:14 respectively. I was really pleased to record a 35 min time for the swim - not much for many I know, but a vast improvement for me! Despite advice from Nick to use off road shoes for the run, it was still disappointing and unfortunately slow enough to allow Linda to creep past me! The final let down was that the event tee shirts had got stuck in customs which meant that I only had the medal as a memento of my first standard race. Never mind there's always next year!
Finally in this round up, Mike finished the Reading Standard distance in 3:04. Unfortunately I don't have a picture but well done nonetheless.
Don't forget if you've got any tales of success or epic failure you would like to share with members, let me know. We will need some tales to inspire and motivate us over the winter months.
