Still more Running...

Well finally the lighter nights are upon us and temperatures are heading in an upwards direction. It was noticeable that there were more bikes out and about on both Saturday and Sunday this week and for the wimps among us the open water season beckons. However this week running dominates again.

Starting as usual with the local park run, there were some fine performances from Stu (68.00%); not bad for someone about to do a marathon, Tom (61.04%), Kate (57.55%) and Angie (53.81%).

A few members completed the Pendock Spring Chicken 10k race. Suzi led the TTC pack home in 52:54 followed by Jo (56:54), Linda & Cathy (1:06 & 1:07 respectively).

Meanwhile up north in Manchester we had fine representation in the marathon with Gwyn finishing in 3hrs 28mins, Russ in 3:38, PJ in 3:45 and Anne in 4:39. Philip, who has done more marathons than I have had hot dinners, finished in 4:43; one of his best performances for some time.

I was tasked with putting together a calendar of events featuring who was competing where but triathletes are such a modest lot, I've not had anyone let me know what they are doing yet. Don't be shy - share it with me and perhaps we can inspire a few others to follow your example!

A quick reminder the last Aquathlon of the series takes place this Sunday at Tewkesbury school. If you are taking part, good luck, if not, I've never seen any volunteers to marshal being turned away and you can cheer on your fellow TTC members at the same time. Did I mention there's cake?
